Production Logo

Production Logo

This was our final production logo. We started of with thinking we may do a animated piece or some thing rather complex but we thought we would do some different but was very simple to create.
-We brain stormed on what to call it and we decided that piping productions would be rather fitting as the logo would be written on to a cigarette.
-.We then decided we was going to write on it with black marker pen making the logo big and bold and will also make it easy to read for the audience.
-We then had to decide what part we was going to write on the cigarette as not all of it would have fitted and also how we was going to write on it whether it was going to be in capitals or lower case.
-We finally decided to write piping in lower case on the cigarette and productions on the knuckle of my hand so you would see Piping Productions.
-We used the cigarette and knuckle as it fits in with the smoking and violence with in the film.

We found that smoking a cigarette with marker pen on is not particually healthy and did make me a little ill but the overall piece was great after a little editing and blackening the back ground of it.

Our first scene filming evaluation

Things that went well
  • We managed to get a lesson in a posh arena so that it fits the scene and story of our film genre right .
  • We got some good shots of the horse riding.
  • We managed to get to right uniform for the part of Elizabeth riding the horse.
  • The horse was a lovely looking horse to suite the story.
Things that went wrong
  • We wanted to film at my house on my horse but the weather was to bad so we had to change to a riding school .
  • The lighting was not as good as we wanted it to be so we had to change some of our shots.
  • It cost us a lot more than what we thought.
  • We was not aloud in the arena so had to change all of our shots and adapt to the size, shape and view that we could get from the arena.

Our bbfc film ratings

BBFC'S do a rate and watch service that provides and allows the owners rights to hold a cost-effective digital age rating. This can be done with out the government and rates them from a u-r18 . With in this it considers the amount of violence , drugs, language, behavior, nudity, theme and the impact  that consists through out the whole film .

Main Issues of content and what will need to be considered for this reason-

Discrimination- there is no racial or prejudiced discrimination, however there are some words that viewers may find offensive.
Drugs- there is no links, good or bad within our film opening which include drugs, however tobacco is involved.
Horror- there is no content of horror within this film opening.
Imitable behavior- this is due to a fight scene, smoking and vandalism, which can  be easily imitated by easily influenced people.
Language- this is due to language which s inappropriate for people under the age of 15. This is because most of the language includes swearing.
Nudity- there is no content including nudity within our film opening.
Sex- there is no content or references to sex within our film opening.
Theme- these include, violence, gang culture, social class.
Violence- in our film opening, there is a large content of fighting, however these scenes are not graphic (blood, gore, 'cringe-worthy) to gain a higher age rating.

This classification does not contradict our target audience because our target audience is under 35's, however, we have decided on a classification of a 15 because the is imitable behavior, violence and bad language. This has not received a higher classification because there are no graphic scenes, racial/ prejudiced discrimination or any relation to illegal or harmful drugs, (positive or negative) apart from tobacco.

After considering the information from above we have decided that our movie opening will be rated a 15 however this classification does not contradict our target audience because our target audience is under 35's, however, we have decided on a classification of a 15 because the is imitable behavior, violence and bad language. This has not received a higher classification because there are no graphic scenes, racial/ prejudiced discrimination or any relation to illegal or harmful drugs, (positive or negative) apart from tobacco.  The language is bad , But with nothing else being included with in this and as the swearing is not out of control we have decided to keep it at a 15 .We have also taken in consideration of what the BBFC rates normal violent action films .

Editing updates

This is the process that we took when editing the shots that we had for our film opening.

These are the shots that we edited together. To do this we simply dragged the shot that we wanted down from the project media, dragging the end of each shot to cut it or make it slightly longer. This consists of jump cuts as the fight goes on for a while we used jump cuts to show the passage of time.

This is the uncopy righted sound that we added in . We did this by downloading it and then adding into the suitable scenes of which we selected it for . we had to shorten some bits and copy and paste more bits in to make it longer so that it would fit in . we also had to rewind a bit to make it fit in with the rest of the music .

This is the narration that we inserted we used this narration because i thought it was the best technique to get the audience to feel like they know the audience. We found trying to insert this a little tricky but once we had a little play and got the hang of it we was really able to use it to its ability.

This is the speech and sounds that was picked up on the camera we kept this as we thought it gave a good affect int he fighting scenes as you can hear the shouting and the screaming of the rival gang we had this in the back ground really quiet.

This is the text that we used. we searched through the internet for so many fonts and this one caught our eye we thought that it matched the genre and setting perfectly.

Our first day of filming

Our Cast

This was our cast in their out fits for our first day of filming - As you can see they are dressed like chavs which was our stereo typical look for our chosen film genre (Crime). Their looks and their attutude fit perfectly for when we was filming , they were all good actors and gave us 100%.

Things that went wrong and that we found difficult

At first we found it hard to get the right positioning with the camera and our cast but after a couple of attemps we got use to it and got the shots that we needed .
We realized that in some of the shots we took our chracter was smoking and in the next she wasnt so we had to change this .
Some times we did not get the right angles from our characters so the clip we took had to be deleted but other clips were fine .

Things that went well
The fighting scenes went really well and looked really realistic due to us having good actors , The actors all acted in character and gave a good performannce when filming .
Some of the shots we got was taken by accident and actually turned out usefull and set our genre well.
A lot of our shots were accurate and controled and went really well , the scene we filmed in was better than we thought and connoted the fact that we were doing the genre crime .
The lighting was perfect and the streets and parks we used was a good setting .

filming updates

This is the first day we filmed we did the filming in three different areas around Market Rasen.

First- we filmed down Chapman Street first this was of Lizzy walking down the road this consisted of a long shot of her walking from behind from the front and a close up on her feet. We did this about five times each so we had a wide variety to choose from.
-Then it was of her walking to the door and a anonymous man opening the door we remembered the 180 degree angle.

This was very successful the lighting fitted very well and the angles of the cameras where perfect.

Second- We filmed randomly down the high street this was not intentional but we think it looks very good it is a hand held shot of us all walking down the high street.

This was very successful too the light was just setting and it showed the passing of time from the first section of filming to the next.

Third- This was filmed in a little park near the primary school we thought this was suitable for the location of the fight. we managed to get plenty of establishing shots we got this by having the camera stood on top of a climbing frame this created a a brilliant establishing shots of the fight. We also did close ups high angled shots and mid shots this is to create a tense feeling through out the fight.

This was also successful as by the time they reached the park it had got dark which shows that time has passed and that all of these events happened all in the same day.
My over all thoughts about this day of filming was that it was very good and we filmed some brilliant footage.
