New location
We will now be filming at Caistors riding school as the weather is affecting the ground which means we are unable to ride the horse. So the introductions is now not at Jess' farm it is at Caistor. This place has an in door riding school which we hope to be using.
UPDATE ON LOCATION
This is Caistor Equestrian Centre, where the first scene will be shot.
The second scene will be shot of the main character/characters coming down this road.
At this point, the main character will reach the front door of this house and then there will be a jump-cut to the next scene.
Here is where the characters will enter the fight scene.
This is where the final, fight scene will take place which will then end with a black out.

Scene 2 Costume

For the second scene we are having the characters dresses in trackies or jogger bottoms wearing a hoodie and trainers , we are dressing are characters like this to connote the fact that they are chavs and are up to no good.
Location and costume for scene 1
Scene One- Horse riding.
This is the location for scene
one, we have chosen this because it is a large peice of land, which tells us that
the family in the film opening is 'rich'. Therefor this gives the right
characterisation for the main character, Elizabeth. We also chose this location
because there are horse stables and there is also enough space to ride a horse
for our first scene
Costume
Scene One- Horse
riding.
In the first scene, the main
character will be wearing horse gear. This will include, jodhpurs, a riding hat,
shirt, boots etc. This is because she will be riding a horse.
Job Roles
Camera- we have decided
that we are all going to control the camera, sharing this duty. The definition
of a camera man is a person who's function is it operate a
camera.
Sound- we have decided that Megan Johnson is in charge of sound because she is playing the non-diegetic music for our production. The definition of someone who controls sound is a technician who is responsible for recording sound.
Lighting- all of our scenes are outside. Therefore no one is necessarily in control of this.
Director- we have decided that we should all participate in this role, because we feel that no one should be the only person to take control of the production, so therefor it would be a joint decision. The definition of a director is a member(s) of a team who is in charge of a situation and with a vision of the finished product.
Producer(s)- we have decided that all of us will take this role because we should all be able to contribute to the finished product. The definition of a producer is someone who edits and creates the overall product.

ELIZABETH is riding a horse around a field. Her MOTHER is watching her ride.
MOTHER
Elizabeth, Elizabeth, darling

ELIZABETH gets off the
horse.
MOTHER
You did good today
Elizabeth.
ELIZABETH
I did, didn't I?
Her MOTHER goes back indoors. ELIZABETH then walks and then leans
onto a fence. She lights a cigarette, with a natural, stern look on her
face.
ELIZABETH
See i am a good girl. In fact,
I'm everything a well bought up girl should be... I just like to f*ck sh*t
up.
EXT.STREET.EVENING.
ELIZABETH is walking down a street, in
a pair of track suite bottoms. There is a non-diegetic narration, in the voice
of ELIZABETH.
ELIZABETH
Oh, I'm Elizabeth by the way,
but the f*cked up crew I call friends call me Lizzie.
ELIZABETH walks to a door, and goes
through.
EXT.STREET.EVENING.
ELIZABETH and a group of people are in
a fight. There is a lot of shouting and fighting. The non-diegetic narration
continues.
ELIZABETH
Here's Stella, well Stompa
Stella. You'll see why.
STELLA stomps on someones ribs, they
are lying on the floor.
ELIZABETH
That's Tiff, she doesn't look
like much, but trust me, shes a psycho.
TIFF punches someone in the stomach (or
along those lines).
ELIZABETH
Ow! That's my girl! This is
Jodie, she's, erm, good with her hands.
JODIE slaps a girl across the
face.
ELIZABETH
And of course, Our Becky,
she's brutal! A gob like my arse on the morning after a Vindaloo; a terrible
pain and spitting out sh*t. Its not nice.
BECKY is shouting in someones face.
Then a shot shows of the whole fight.
ELIZABETH
And these c*nts are about to
get destroyed!

Past students analysis
Melcs
M-e-s
Costume- The female we see at the very beginning is wearing formal clothing and is dressed in a coat and a scarf this connotes the fact that she is in sixth form or at college or could even be a teacher .This also signifies that it is cold and could be winter .
The guy we see near the end opening the door and picking up a scarf is covered up so that you cant see him , this connotes that he is a bad guy and/or is trying to hide his identity .The fact that he is wearing a leaver jacket shows us that he is not poor and he is also wearing a coat which signifies the fact that it could be cold or winter .I think the costumes are good because it matches the genre although i think that the guy who is covered up could wear cloths that are a bit more appropriate as it just looks like he is wearing normal cloths .
Lighting
All the lighting with in this is natural lighting or high key lighting this adds effect as it makes it seem more interesting as people wouldn't normally steal in the light, or commit a crime in the light although i think that to make it look more like a crime film it needs to be done more in the dark . I do not know if the high key lighting was done intentionally or not .
Characters
The first character we see is a girl wearing casual clothing which connotes that she is maybe in college or sixth form . She seems sad and lonely as she is not walking with any one and has a sad look on her face , i do not know if this was done intentionally or not but to me the fact that she is alone signifies the fact that she has a stalker . The second person we see is a male who is all covered up this connotes the fact that he is sneaky and mysterious , i think that it is good that he is all covered up because it makes the audience ask questions.
Props
The only prop that is used in this film opening is a scarf and a phone , the phone is used when the girl is walking and it looks as if she is texting they could of used this prop to make it look like the girl is doing something , although i do not think their is any need for the use of the phone in this film opening . Their is also a scarf used which is then stolen by who we presume is a stalker , this is good because it adds effect and lets the audience know that their is something weird about the guy .
Setting
At the beginning the setting is on the road , this could connote the fact that he is following her down the road as she goes to school , Although i am not quite sure why the setting is on the road as it is a clean road which isn't crime like at all. The next setting is in a class room which signifies the fact that she goes to a sixth form or college . This is good because it tells the audience that she does go a sixth form and answer the question we first asked at the beginning (Why is she dressed formally) .
Editing
I think that the only editing they really did in this was fades in and out . This could connote the fact that he is sneaking around and that it is a crime film opening but other than that i do not really see any other editing techniques .
sound
The sound is an up beat but scary music and sounds like it is played by string instruments and a piano , this music adds effect as it is intense music . Although i think this type of music is normally used in a horror movie than a crime movie .
Melcs
Editing
Cut is used with in this- This is where two frames are put together to make a sequence .
Their is a lot of cross cutting with in this this is to show the male and females at different places at the same time , this makes the audience think that they will eventually meet .
Fade- Fade is used through out this is a good editing techneque because it makes the shots look better as they fade in together .
Their are also cut aways used with in this , this fills the gaps so that it fits in with the film genre and creates a mood for the audience .
Camera Shots
There are close ups on her walking and texting this also connotes the fact that she is being watched and shows her surroundings .
Their are long shots used to show the surrounding and to show where she is walking to .
Sound
Non-diagetic sound is used through out all this film opening , the sound is a slow classic sounds , this builds tention at the beggining and makes the audience wonder what is going to happen next because of the sound . I think this music is good for a crime film because in crime films the audience are always wondering what is going to happen next ?.
CMINTS
CMINTS
Iconography
Their are signs with in this film opening that are very unique for the genre:
The cigrettes - This connotes some on who is bad or doesnt care about theit apperance .
The guy wears a hoodie which connotes crime because it hides his face .
Theme
In the opening it is suggested that the theme is stalking which is a usual type of crime - This is shown as the male characters actions are strange and followes her into school , looks through the blinds and then steals her scarf . I think this is good for a crime film because it builds tention although i think they rushed into showing the audience that he is a stalker straight away .
NarrationTheir are Non-linear narration used with in this film opening because of the tension from the music and the attitude from the boy - it makes the audience think that something bad is going to happen rather quickly . EnigmaWho is the male character?
Why is he following the girl?
Is the scarf significant ?
Who is the girl and why is she being followed ?

Ideas Trainspotting and Green Street
We chose to use an idea from this film , we have chose to use the freeze frames and writing of names in our film opening as we like how it uses freeze frames to introduce their characters . After seeing this idea we would like to use our main characters and introduce them as they are fighting , this will include freeze frames on the main characters, punching some on , kicking some one etc..
In Green Street we have chose to use the shouting and fighting within our film opening as we like the idea of the shouting and fighting being crime like . This will show our audience straight away that they will be expecting crime and action within our film .

Interveiws
I was not here for this interview but first of all we interviewed three different people to see their individual thoughts on the genre we have chosen "Crime"
Conclusion
Our conclusion is that we are going to go with our chosen genre crime and drama as we had brilliant feed back which means it would be good for out target audience . This has also given us confidants to add extras into it .
- The first person we interviewed absolutely loves crime films and drama films , she was very passionate about them, she gave us a good over view about what we should put in a crime and drama film and what not to put in them . She also mentioned that she thinks its bad and does not like to much action such as the use of guns and explosions but likes it when you have to think about whats happened .
- The second person that we interviewed also loved our chosen genre crime and drama , she tells us how she likes to see the leader of the group to show dominance , this is good because it means the target audience enjoy this and this was one of our first ideas on our film opening . she also mentioned that she likes a good amount of suspense and violence but she likes it to be a mixture which is good for us because that what we would like to do in our film opening .
- The third that we interviewed involved two people being interviewed at the same time this is so that their answers would bounce of each others but we didn't get a lot of information as they did not like our chosen film genre . We asked them why they didn't like the film genre but they did not give us a good answer .
Conclusion
Our conclusion is that we are going to go with our chosen genre crime and drama as we had brilliant feed back which means it would be good for out target audience . This has also given us confidants to add extras into it .

LIGHTING
We have chose to use dark lighting for the fighting and freeze frame scene , and high key lighting for the horse riding , posh scene .
The Pitch
Unfortunately i was not here for this task but the rest of my group still filmed it and these were our ideas and feed back .
Idea 1- At the beginning of the filming we chose the main character to be riding a horse from two different points this was the show the posh part within our character, it has a classic relaxing music in the background to also show that she is posh and to show the relaxation we then chose that the main character should leans against a fence and lights up a fag with narration of her talking about her life this is to show the more rebellious and crime side to her . It then continues to then show us her double life as she has had a posh up bringing but she chooses to be a rebel and get into trouble. there is narration continuing through out this which also consists of an upbeat music as she walks to the front door. It then goes on to her introducing her friends every time she says her friends name it freezes on them hitting some one and this is the basic idea of are first idea.
Feed back- we got good feed back for this one saying that it is a good idea and that we should go for this one.
Idea 2- Idea two is a basic version of the first where it basically shows the true environment that a working class teenager class D/E has to live in and shows the impact on there life. This idea was not thought through a lot and we decided to scrap it.
Feed back- We didn't get much feed back as they was not keen on are ideas and think idea 1 would be produced better.

Target Audience Research
Our group has chosen to do our film opening on the genre Action/Crime/Drama, we have chosen this because it is a popular choice as shown on these pictures . This first picture shows that 50% of the general public enjoy watching Action films and 55% enjoy watching Drama . This is a high percentage from the general public and would be good to market . Because of this percentage we know that it is a good choice of film genre and would get high ratings .
In table second it shows us that 20% of the public who are 16+ which is still a really good percentage , this tells us that we need to be aiming our target audience at 16+ to get the highest market that we can . As well as this Drama has 19% of 16+ who consider it their favourite genre to watch . These two genres have both got high percentages so to mix them both together will target a bigger percentage of the audience which will be good for the market .
The third picture shows that 37% of the age 35 and under consider action their favourite film where as only 20% of women 35 and under consider action their favourite film . The percentage of men over 35 is 25% and women is 10% this shows us that the 35 and unders prefer action films so we should target it to 35 and unders . Although drama has a percentage of only 4% from the males of 35 and under and a percentage of 14% fir females aged 35 and under . This makes the target audience for age a little bit more difficult , so because of previous research from the pictures above i would put the film as a 16+ as that would target our main audiences .

In the fourth picture 62% males over 35 consider action their favourite film genre where as only 35% of women over 35 considered it their favourite film genre . Although 70% of women that are 35 and over enjoy watching drama where as only 54% of men over 35 enjoy watching the genre drama. This tells us to be targeting the genre more towards both males and females as their is a lot bigger interest in males for Action and a lot bigger target audience for Drama for the females so its a mix .

Box Office Data (Audience)
After analyzing my results of www.the-numbers.com . From looking at these statistics I can see that my genre has a good potential in the market . As shown on the pictures below Action and crime is a very popular genre . As the black night sold the amount of $447,614,51157,166,604 and Men in Black 3 sold $179,020,85422,863,455 worth of tickets. Also action has a 16.81% of market share . After looking and analyzing these results i feel confident in doing a Action /Crime film as it is a high rated genre .
