FistiCuffs Finished piece
This is our finished project Fisticuffs, With in this we had to experiment with lots of different camera shots and angles. We had to research and plan the project so that we was organised enough when it came to filming. We chose to pick Action/Crime film and i feel that it went really well, in the research we chose to look at films such as Green Street and Trainspotting and this is where we got the fight scenes from .
In this project i found the editing the hardest as i did not know how to use the programme Sony Vegas but after playing around with it for a while i found it a bit easier. I found that the filming was the easiest thing to do although we did find that we had to go back and do the in the house scene again as we did not get the right shots that we wanted. All together i think that our final piece came out really well although if i had more time to finish it i would change the colour and edit the sound a bit better .

Evaluation question 5
How did you attract/address your audience?
The key point of our film opening that attracts the audience i think would be the narration and the violence as it catches the audience attention and is very direct.I think that the violence is good and would attract the audience because of the jump cuts of the fights as it makes the audience focus because they know that if they dont they will miss some thing .
At first we researched our target audience and asked people questions to see what interests them and what doesnt in the film genre Crime :
When asking these people what they liked and disliked they said that they liked the more Dramatic programmes which is great for our chosen film genre , They said that they liked programmes such as Cornation street, Hollyoaks and Eastenders . They also like films such as the Football Factory because its interesting and contains action . These interests gave us a good idea on what to put in our film opening and what to look at to help us with this .
I also interviewed some one aged 16 to find out what their interests are, as we would like the have the target audience ageed 15-25 .

I think that if we were to advertise our film we should put it in adverts before things such as Coronation Street , Skins and Shamless , I also thing that posters of our film should be put in or out side fast food shops as shown above 16 year olds like Chineese and curry and a lot of people would go to a fast food shop with the ages of 15-25 so i think this would attract them .

would be the audience for your media project and why?

We researched the statistics on the UK Film Council and found out that Drama was one of the most popular films and was in the top 5 for most popular type of film and 55% of the general public voted it to be the best genre of film . Because of these ratings our group decided that this would be a good genre to choose as we would get the audiences that we wanted to watch it and it would sell well .
We also researched our chosen genre on the BBFC to see what they would normally use as their target audience .
Because of our Genre and our audience i think our film would be aimed more towards a niche audience and would be with in a indapendant film industry . This is because Crime/Action is a film with a recuired taste , either people like it or hate it and their is only a small group of people who like to watch it . Also because of the budget of money that wer had to film it , we would not beable to make it a huge film and we would not be able to advertise it in places like cinemas .
We have decided to have our target audience as a age 15-25 in a social class of class D/E.This is because of feed back we have been given and the research we have done . Here is an example of our chosen target audience and some of the research that we did to support the reason why we chose the age and class for our target audience ;

We know that this would be a suitable target audience because of the following points:
Because of our other chosen genre Crime we have decided that it would be more suitable for the target audience to be between the ages of 15-25 years old from working class families. Because crime is a more familiar genre in these age groups .We have also researched the average age for the film genre Drama, We have found that in the general public a female parent, aged over 35 years old enjoys watching the genre Drama . So because of this we have decided to use Drama and Crime and keep the age from 15-25 as it would be more suited for these people .
Ethnicity- For our film opening we found that blacks and whites are more interested with in the film genre Crime/Action , Where as Asian and Pakistan people are not so interested with this film genre . So because of this we have decided to aim our film opening more towards British people and American people .
